Bunty Jones, a familiar face in Hermanus for many years, has quietly and elegantly built a successful business in the property market since 1966.
A Cape Town girl, Bunty grew up in Rondebosch and Claremont and attended Herschel before graduating from UCT with a BA majoring in English and Latin. Her plans to become a teacher went awry and after she married Col John (Jonah) Jones – OBE, Legion of Merit, ex Indian and British Army, the family moved to Hermanus. Earlier in 2002 Bunty decided to hand the reigns to her daughter, Sue Minnaar. Sue Minnaar was schooled at St Andrews Junior School in Johannesburg and then at Rustenburg Girl's High School in Cape Town, as a boarder, always returning to Hermanus for the holidays. After school, Cape Town became home until she moved back to Hermanus in 1989 to marry Andre Minnaar. She has two children Marc (born 1991) and Shannon (born 1995). Sue joined her Mum in 1998 and quickly found she had a passion for people and property. She has since set about building the portfolio of prime properties in Hermanus whilst paying great attention to ensuring care and comfort to both Landlord and Tenant. Sue has now included Guest Houses in the portfolio and hopes in the future to include prime properties in other areas of South Africa. |
